Abstract

Curriculum changes often pose challenges in their implementation, especially in terms of comprehensive implementation by educators. In addition, there are obstacles such as limited facilities in several regions that affect the success of adaptation of the new curriculum. Socialization to educators as the main actors in the field is also an important factor in dealing with curriculum changes. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of changes in the educational curriculum on students in elementary schools. The method used in this study is the descriptive method, which involves descriptive analysis of the data obtained. In its implementation, the curriculum is dynamic which will experience continuous and continuous change and development tailored to human needs in each generation. Curriculum change and development has a foundation that is used as a foothold. There are four foundations of curriculum change and development, namely philosophical, psychological, historical, and sociological foundations. Indonesia has undergone many curriculum changes since 1947 until the end of 2023. The changes are, 1964, 1968, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1984, 1994, 1997, 2004, 2006, and 2013. Curriculum change and development are considered as determinants of the future of learners in a nation. The results showed that although the 2013 curriculum has a good concept in theory, its implementation in the field faces several obstacles
