THE ROLE OF SINGLE PARENT PARENTING IN FOSTERING CHILDREN'S INDEPENDENCE IN SDN 1 KEMPEK GEMPOL SUB-DISTRICT, CIREBON REGENCY

This studying the background by the difference of the independence of the foster by single parent better than the father and the mother, this is because the time to split in between the child care and looking for a living to meet the needs of his life, so there are several children who have lower levels of independence, so it is still have to rely with other people especially the parents, but there is also children who are very independent in doing his activities itself, Therefore, the question arises what distinguishes these parenting styles? From the single parent's side, there are differences in role as a double parent, which certainly has many risks and how he is able to solve these problems. This research method uses qualitative research methods, where this qualitative method is more about collecting various information through interviews with sources accompanied by documentation. Data collection techniques using interviews and observations and documentation. In addition, it also uses case studies. In this study, interviews were conducted with six resource persons, namely three of them were single parent mothers and three single parent fathers, six teachers and six single parent children. The results of this study are different from each single parent, the parenting patterns include authoritarian, permissive and democratic parenting patterns. The results of the interviews show that the parenting style given will cause different impacts and risks depending on how the parents react to it. The conclusion obtained from this research is about the diversity of parenting patterns given by parents such as several types of parenting patterns mentioned above, it can cause different levels of children's independence. Besides that, there are also some problems about the lack of time in controlling children's development because it must be divided by earning a living for the family so that parents are not fully able to control children's development both at home and outside the home
